Council announces projects for Federal funding
Greater Taree City Council has announced some 27 projects will share the $996,000 Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program (RLCIP) funding announced late last year as part of the Rudd Government’s economic stimulus strategy.

Come and Celebrate Australia Day 2009
Australia Day is our nation’s day to celebrate what is great about Australia and being Australian. The Manning Valley will be host to plenty of community celebrations that include fun and free activities for families to celebrate our national day together.
Art Gallery hosts "Lunch for the Trades"
Outstanding Australian sculptor Ruth Downes will open an exhibition of her sculptures, which are humorous and skilfully crafted portrayals of meals made from the materials used by 22 of the trades, at Manning Regional Gallery on Friday 23 January at 6pm.
2009 Community Information Directory Out Now
A popular and much used local reference resource, the 2009 Community Information Directory, has been published and is available for collection at a number of Council outlets and the Manning River Times office.
Council secures $99,000 funding to regenerate Wingham Foreshore
Greater Taree City Council has received a $99,000 grant from the NSW Government Environmental Trust to continue a valuable environmental regeneration project at the Wingham Foreshore Reserve.
