Council Participates in the LGMA Challenge
Greater Taree City Council has fielded a team of six representatives in the LGMA Management Challenge - a professional development activity undertaken annually by Local Government Managers Australia (LGMA) for local government staff across Australia and New Zealand.

Council gets behind Earth Hour

Council endorses traffic committee recommendations
Chairman of the Local Traffic Committee, Councillor Mal Marks has welcomed the endorsement by Council at its meeting on Wednesday 11 March of the recommendations from the February meeting of the Local Traffic Committee.
Mid North Coast Regional Strategy
The Minister for Planning, the Hon. Kristina Keneally, has recently released the Mid North Coast Regional Strategy which recognises Greater Taree as one of four major “regional centres” for the region spanning from Great Lakes in the south to the Clarence Valley in the north.

Council meeting impacted by power outage
Greater Taree City Council had to close it’s ordinary meeting scheduled last night, Wednesday 4 March and defer six items of business to the following Wednesday 11 March due to a power outage caused by a storm affecting the Taree area.
Wheels on Fire in the Gallery!
Maybe you once owned a hotted up Torana or a Kwaka 900? Memories will come flooding back to some visitors to the Manning Regional Art Gallery as they see a different view of the humble car and motorbike in the exhibition Wheels on Fire, on show from March 4 to April 5, 2009.
