Manning Regional Art Gallery hosts an artist in residence
High profile Aboriginal artist and historian Djon Mundine will be Artist-In-Residence at Manning Regional Art Gallery from Monday 8 to Friday 12 June. He will be working on a huge painting of a historic photograph of the Purfleet band, taken in 1909.
Signing of new joint waste management contract
Greater Taree City, Great Lakes and Gloucester Councils have entered into a strategic alliance for the sharing of Waste Infrastructure and Collection Services that has resulted in a new contract with JR Richards & Sons to commence from 1 November this year.
Manning Valley's natural wonders promoted in the Hunter
After a highly successful week at the Sydney Caravan, Camping and 4WD SuperShow in April, Manning Valley Tourism are now heading to the Hunter Valley Caravan, Camping, Fishing and 4WD Show in Maitland to promote the Manning Valley’s “7 Natural Wonders”.
Council Endorses February's Local Traffic Committee Recommendations
Chairman of the Local Traffic Committee, Councillor Mal Marks has welcomed the endorsement by Council, at its meeting on Wednesday 20 May, of the recommendations from the February meeting of the Local Traffic Committee.
Future of Agriculture Forum
Greater Taree City Council will be hosting a Special Forum on The Future of Agriculture in the Manning Valley at the Wingham Services Club next Wednesday, 20TH May 2009, commencing at 9.30 am, as part of its community consultation on preparing the Manning Valley Community Plan.

Manning Regional Art Gallery is offering local artists an exciting opportunity to advance their skills with guidance from top Australian artists. The Gallery is seeking enthusiastic practicing artists from the Mid North Coast to participate in The RuralArt Project, where they will work on sculptures and drawings over a five day period in the rural landscape.
New Youth Mentoring Service
Greater Taree City Council, in partnership with the Department of Community Services, is currently looking for male volunteers to participate in a new Youth Mentoring Service (YMS) in the Manning Valley that will focus on socially disadvantaged boys aged between 7 – 13 years.
