“Sustainable Living” partnership
The environment collection at Greater Taree City Library has reaped the benefits of a sponsorship program that will benefit the entire community.
The “Manning Express” Exhibition
An exhibition of outstanding, selected State Secondary School art from high schools in Taree, Wingham, Bulahdelah, Chatham, Gloucester and Great Lakes was officially opened at Manning Regional Art Gallery on November 16 at 6.30pm, by Mr Peter Piaud from the NSW Department of Education and Training.
Entries Closing Soon
Manning Valley Tourism reminds residents that registration for entries in the 2007-2008 photography competition are needed by Friday 30 November 2007.
Unveiling of the Directions to Expressions Mural playing a part in Youth Café opening
Council is pleased to announce the completion of the first stage of Woombarra Wunggan’s 2007 NSW Artstart mural project, Directions to Expressions. The mural will be unveiled on Friday 23 November in conjunction with the official opening of the PCYC Youth Café.
16 Days of Activism
As part of the Domestic Violence Community Development project, funded by the NSW Attorney General’s Department, a number of community festivities are planned to support the 16 Days of Activism.
Council Approves Brothel Application
At an Extraordinary Meeting held last night, Greater Taree City Council reviewed the decision of the Council’s Planning Committee made in September to refuse an application for the establishment of a brothel within an industrial area in Taree.
Mayor Mick's Memorial Bowls Day
Following the success of the “Mayor Micks Memorial Golf Day” held in previous years, the committee is organising an evening of bowls at Old Bar Beach Bowling Club to be held from 5pm on Friday 16 November 2007.
Storm Damage
Some localised parts of Taree were affected on Friday 2 November by strong winds and hail, which has caused damage to trees in Council's parks and road reserves
