Greater Taree City Council recently held a successful briefing and training course on demographic trends occurring for our region since the 2006 Census, providing valuable updates that will be used by businesses, community groups and Council staff.
2011 .id – GTCC Demographic Trends Briefing, Community Profile and Forecasts Training was conducted by Glenn Capuano, a Senior Demographics Consultant, from .id (Informed Decisions) in Melbourne.
Mr Capuano presented the trends that have occurred in the Greater Taree City Council area since the 2006 Census was undertaken.
The 2011 .id – GTCC Briefing was arranged by council to enable leaders and staff to better advise local businesses and community groups on the emerging demographic trends so that new opportunities and challenges of the future could be identified in advance.
Council already utilises this type of scientific information so that its forecasts and plans are based on accurate, relevant, accessible and statistically comparable data.
The .id organisation has been supplying Greater Taree City Council with our GTCC Community Profile, Community Atlas and Population Forecasts since 2007, which can be accessed above.
For anyone interested in further information on the 2011 .id – GTCC Demographic Trends Briefing, a copy of the formal presentation given by Glenn Capuano is available here.
As a result of the keen interest in and positive feedback on this Demographic Trends Briefing council intends to run them annually in future.
