Council's cemeteries are maintained to acceptable standards with a minimum of 6 mowings per year by Council contractors.

The Dawson River Cemetery is however regularly maintained by contractors and is the only cemetery in the Council area that has a designated lawn section.

Historical burial registers have been compiled and published by the Manning Wallamba Family History Society. The registers include unmarked graves and burials on private property.

In 1981, the National Trust of Australia (NSW) set a goal to record all known burial sites in NSW. Our aim was to identify, document and assess the significance of over 4000 burial places and to understand and record their historical and cultural value for the community, indeed for the nation, and to promote their conservation.

The purpose of the Australian Cemetery Index is to provide a searchable data base for all cemetery inscriptions that have been recorded by the authors and contributors over several years. It is intended to be a useful tool for those researching their family history. It includes photographs of headstones and memorials.
