The Manning Valley Community Plan covers a wide range of issues including: social needs, environmental management, land use, community infrastructure - including roads and bridges, culture and the arts and opportunities for economic development. It sets out the community's long-term objectives for the area and identifies priorities for services and spending.
Council will base its future decisions on what is set out in the Plan. Each newly elected council will prepare a four-year delivery program, demonstrating how they will implement the things in the Community Plan during their term of office. The Plan will also be used to highlight local needs to State and Federal politicians and to lobby for more funding for our area.
It has taken over 18 months of research and community participation to develop. It was important that as many people as possible were involved in putting the Plan together. Council heard a wide variety of views to make sure the final Plan truly represents what our community wants for the future.
