The Greater Taree Community Land Plan of Management (2011) applies to all public open space owned by Council. Council currently owns and manages 353 hectares of public open space. Maps are provided in Appendix A of the Plan that identifies all Community Land to which this Plan of Management applies.
Where Council resolves that a community land site is either of the following:
a) a site of a known natural, geological, geo morphological, scenic or other feature that is considered by Council to warrant protection or special management considerations or;
b) a wildlife corridor, or where a site is a critical habitat, contains or is directly affected by a recovery plan or threat abatement plan as declared under the Threaten Species Conservation Act 1995 or the Fisheries Management Act 1994,
a site specific Plan of Management will be prepared.
In addition to the application of the Plan of Management for Community Land, two site specific Plans of Management currently exist:
1. Wingham Sporting Complex Plan of Management (2011)
2. Taree Regional Recreation Centre Plan of Management (2007)
