18 June 2012
Greater Taree City Council’s tourism arm, Manning Valley Tourism would like to invite all business operators to attend the Manning Valley Tourism Partnership launch for 2012-13.
The Manning Valley Tourism Partnership is a program with a membership drawn from individuals, companies and organisations that have an interest in the promotion and development of tourism in our region.
Tourism is the largest and fastest growing industry in the world and a significant and fast growing industry in the Manning Valley. In 2011 the Manning Valley saw a massive $163 million injection into the local economy via tourism. Tourism is big business and benefits far more than the local tourism operator.
“To keep our visitor levels up, and explore new areas of growth, we need to work together as a community. Together we can create a strong tourism industry and vibrant community across the Manning Valley” said Council’s Tourism Development Officer, Kerry Johnstone.
“This year the Tourism Partnership has undergone a change. Through a review which involved, interviews with industry, research of other tourism member programs and an analysis of tourism goals a new partnership scheme has evolved”.
Ms Johnstone states “We believe the new partnership program delivers a fair equitable program with clear and transparent benefits and look forward to sharing it with you all at a Partnership launch on Monday the 25th of June at 2pm at the Visitor Information Centre”.
For anyone who would like to attend, please RSVP to karen.dean@gtcc.nsw.gov.au.
