Tuesday, 6 October 2009
to Friday, 9 October 2009
Taree City Library in partnership with Manning Mental Health will launch its much anticipated ‘Living Library’ project to mark Mental Health Week . This year’s Mental Health Week theme is “Building Resilience – Sign up, Link in, Get Involved” and the ‘Living Library’ aim is to achieve just that. A ‘Living Library’ is similar to a regular library with one difference - the books are living people. The ‘Living Library’ project will take place on Tuesday 6, Wednesday 7 and Friday 9 October at Taree Library. There will be both morning and afternoon sessions. Members from the community are welcome to borrow a ‘Living Book’ on these days and are able to pre-reserve a ‘Living book’ by contacting Danielle Donnelly on 6592 5390 or visiting Taree Library. Loan periods are for 30 minutes and involve borrower and ‘Living Book’ sitting in the library for an informal one-on-one chat. Light refreshments will be available.
